  • 36 fresh asparagus spears
  • 1 package puffed pastry
  • 36 fresh asparagus spears
  • 9 slices of Prosciutto
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 2 finely chopped garlic cloves
  • 1/4 cup freshly grated Parmesan or Asiago cheese
  • Salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning
  1. Step 1 – Prepare Ingredients
    1. Trim woody ends and lightly steam asparagus spears (3-5 minutes or until spears are dark green, tender and firm).
    2. Put spears immediately on ice to stop cooking process.
    3. Melt butter with chopped garlic approximately 15 seconds.
    4. Cut prosciutto strips into thirds to create 2×2 squares.
    5. Cut pastry sheets into squares (9 equal squares per sheet).
  2. Step 2 – Assemble, Spice and Wrap
    1. Baste one side of pastry square with garlic butter.
    2. Lay one piece of prosciutto on buttered pastry square.
    3. Lay two asparagus spears diagonally over prosciutto.
    4. Season lightly with salt, pepper and Italian seasoning.
    5. Add a teaspoon or so of shredded Parmesan or Asiago cheese.
    6. Wrap puffed pastry square around asparagus and prosciutto, beginning with outer corner. Asparagus should extend outside of the wrap as shown..
  3. Step 3 – Bake and Serve!
    1. Place wraps with overlapping ends facing down on a cookie sheet covered in foil or parchment.
    2. Bake in hot oven (400 degrees) for 15-20 minutes until golden crisp on the outside and cooked through on the inside.
    3. Serve immediately or at room temperature.
