“Mai Tai's were invented by the infamous Trader Vic. He was a restaurateur and entrepreneur extraordinaire. The Mai Tai is the quintessential polynesian cocktail, perfect for a TIki Party!”
- 1 Ounce light rum
- 1 Ounce dark rum
- 1/2 Ounce orange curaçao
- 1/2 Ounce fresh lime juice (squeezed juice from half a lime)
- 1/2 Ounce almond syrup (orgeat)
- 1/4 Ounce Simple Syrup
- 2 Cups ice per glass
- Mint sprig, orange slice, cherry, and a cocktail umbrella

Step 1 – For a Single Drink
Measure and combine all ingredients, except lime, into a cocktail shaker, and shake well.
Pour directly from shaker to garnished high ball glass.
Squeeze the juice of half a lime into the glass.
Garnish with mint sprig, orange slice, cherry, and a bar-glass umbrella.
Step 2 – To Make a Batch
Multiply desired number of servings times each ingredient (except ice and lime juice). Combine in a pitcher. Mix and refrigerate.
When ready to serve, pour over ice, squeeze 1/2 a lime into the glass and garnish with mint sprig, orange slice, cherry, and a bar-glass umbrella.
